Wouldn’t you know it….
« on: July 25, 2022, 12:16:39 AM »
I had a realization earlier tonight as I was looking at my car. As a few may have seen I determined where my car was sold partly from my PHS and also with the help of someone else. One thing my PHS DID  provide to me was that my car was originally a W72 car however when I bought my decals I assumed that wasn’t the case and rather than be like everyone else who went with the standard kit which includes the T/A 6.6, I paid extra for, and installed the 6.6 Litre. Tonight is the first time it dawned on me that the T/A 6.6 would’ve actually been correct.  :o

I do think I still have them, somewhere, but I have to see if I can find them.

You can buy just the shaker decals.
Norwalk and the Natz are soon, Ames can have them waiting there for you if you can’t find yours.

Found the decals and added a poll above. What would you do?

Me?   I’d switch it to the correct T/A 6.6 but if you’re not competing at a concourse level, why bother.  I’d say leave it as is and hang onto the correct decal. Bottom line: do what you like best.

These are the valve covers that came on it. I’ll probably replace them with stock one day but not in the budget for now.

I say put the correct ones on. Obviously it is a 400/4 speed car and you still have a 400 in it. I'm OCD about stuff like this myself. One of my 79's I had was a 403 car that had been repainted before I got it. They went with the T/A 6.6 that came with the graphics package. When I got the car I immediately changed them to 6.6 Litre. Little stuff matters to me. Not so much to others, but I do notice stuff like that unfortunately, and when I see correct stuff on a car I know the owner really knows his/her stuff.

True. I figure 95% of people wouldn’t know the difference but the rest who would are the ones who might ask. Nobody else would think to.

I would put on the T/A 6.6 decals. I love the look of that even most would not know, it makes us all smile when we see it.

I think I’ll switch them. I have them. Won’t cost me anything that I haven’t already paid for.
