I used to take my last one down completely for the winter but the summer sun takes its toll on the canvas. As for the inspection, Im sure I do but since I dont have a permit, That aint gonna happen unless the city stops by and gives me crap.

In California you'd need to do an environmental impact study.  Then get approved by the city council who would make sure you meeting earthquake standards and aren't diminishing the amount of leeching area required for rain water to get absorbed into the earth.  And don't cut down or prune any trees without a permit because we need to fight man made climate change.

Find the center of the top and the bottom, snap a line.   Start on that line, go each way, both sides of the line will look the same.
