Decoding Rally II codes
« on: March 21, 2014, 07:47:58 AM »
My T/A came with a pretty good set of Rally IIs on it, but since I am not a fan of the Rally's, I plan to put them up for sale. The center caps on thwem are strange, they are a shorter version of the third gen center caps in black. I have been told these came on GTA cars. The rims themselves are stamped "M56 7:  1  HF" Can anyone tell me what these came off of and when they were made?
 Thanks!

The "HF" crosses over to a 15x7 Rally wheel that was used on (amongst other things) 74-81 Firebirds with a GM part number of 525710.

Yeah, I checked the rally chart it but didn't see that particular code. Maybe I just missed it.

I don't think I've ever seen that type of cap on a rally

FWIW, the 15x7 Rally II's on my Norwood-built '81, are all coded "HP" next to the valve stem.  They are absolutely the factory-installed wheels.

Im guessing this is the center cap you have.  The rally 2 came back to the base firebird for 86 and 87.  They were painted silver with the black firebird logo caps
