Anyone use one of these central vacuums in their garage, are they any good?  I'm tired as hell of dragging the shop vac around.

Rockler sells a nice looking hose reel.  I'm not sure how well it would work with just a shop vac, it seems like you would lose a lot of suction.  I think the central vacs are better designed for long lengths of hose.

This one is wet/dry

My garage is already drywalled.  Iíd have to surface mount the pvc.  If I was bare studs Iíd put one in.  The house would be nice to have it.

You don't need any pipe.  You can get them with 20 - 50' of flexible hose.  Just coil it up on a bracket or roll it up on a reel when you're done with it.

A regular vac will lose way too much suction through a long hose.

You could step it down.  The auto nozzle isnít the big size anyway.   I guess you could run PVC around.
